The Manufacturers’ Information Hub (The MIH) is building that portal, to simplify access to construction product information through a standardised, interoperable approach.

How The MIH solves problems for your business
Information about construction products needs to be accurate, secure and up to date. Currently there is no joined up approach to addressing issues with data credibility, security, and interoperability between multiple systems across the supply chain.
That includes keeping information up to date, making it accessible and managing version control so users of your product information can be confident.
The MIH is not a platform for comparing products. Solutions already exist, and The MIH is not seeking to disrupt that or replace those platforms. Instead, The MIH will make it simpler and more cost effective for those platforms to be accurate and useful.
In turn, that makes it easier for you to be accountable and responsible for your data, because The MIH will link directly to your product information management (PIM) system or your choice of data pool. That allows The MIH to solve problems related to:
• traceability and the golden thread;
• access to testing and certification evidence;
• accuracy of product marketing;
• verifiable carbon data, and more.

The MIH is not a platform for uploading product information, it is a portal which you connect to once and then decide what platforms to share your information with. In this way it will massively reduce the cost and risk of sharing information. The MIH is not seeking to disrupt or replace information sharing platforms. Instead, we will make it much simpler for manufacturers to share their information with them.
Yes. As the mandatory data fields for each product type are defined through the CPR Aquis process, a clear DPP data set will emerge. The MIH Portal can assist in the process of DPP creation by connecting these required information attributes for your product to a DPP provider’s system so that a DPP can be generated.
The Forums are for anybody involved in providing or using construction product information across Europe. Construction product information affects many separate business roles. We are holding the Forums fortnightly, and it doesn’t matter if multiple people in the same business attend. Once you’ve attended a Welcome Forum there are opportunities to learn about different topics, for technical and non-technical audiences, and we’ll also give you some material to share with colleagues.
